ABOUT ME
Born in 1997 in Ankara, I am an artist. During my childhood, the charcoal and oil paintings of my family members sparked an artistic spark in me. While I was painting the car drawings I made in primary school with extraordinary colors, I had unwittingly pursued a passion. Even though family problems caused me to withdraw into my inner world during high school years, the sketches I put my feelings on paper became a silent refuge for my self in this world that I could not make sense of. In a high school life full of failures and ups and downs, I took a risk and put basic education aside. I could not complete my high school education and unfortunately I became a child away from school due to my lack of commitment to school and moral problems I had with my teachers. In short, my body was equipped with courage and I decided to professionalize myself by developing myself in the field of art. During this period when I received basic drawing training, I met the magical world of plastic arts thanks to my exhibition visits and broadened my perspectives thanks to the conversations I had with artists in the community. These incredible experiences pushed me to prepare for the talent exams of fine arts faculties and enabled me to take firm and firm steps in pursuit of my passion at all costs. In 2016, I was admitted to Akdeniz University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture with outstanding success through the talent exam. The two-semester education process at Akdeniz University enabled me to acquire basic knowledge about the art of sculpture and to start developing myself. However, in order to move to the next stage of my artistic evolution and to further develop and deepen my artistic pursuits, I desired to study in a program with a wider range of opportunities. Therefore, I decided to transfer to Hacettepe University, one of the leading sculpture programs in Turkey. I hoped to expand my artistic vision and express myself as an original artist with the various opportunities offered by Hacettepe University and its experienced academic staff. As a matter of fact, I succeeded in the talent exams and studied at this prestigious institution for about three years. During my education at Hacettepe University, I worked as a project assistant in the exhibition projects of my professors. In addition, by participating in various exhibitions on and off campus, I developed my creative and production skills. At the same time, I took the first steps to connect with the art community and share my experiences. However, in the light of these practical experiences, I also had the opportunity to observe the conservative nature and oppressive structure of the academic education system that restricts artistic freedom and idealism. The system's focus on educating traditional creative individuals rather than real artists with a free and idealistic creative language and its lack of support for artists seeking an original language led me to step outside this system. Therefore, I focused on discovering my own unique voice and artistic identity, independent of the limitations of the academic environment.
In 2021, within the scope of tourism development activities that started in the Ayazini village of Afyonkarahisar, I designed a sculpture square with a pool and submitted my project to the Governorship of Afyonkarahisar. My project was approved and implemented. Within the scope of this project, I examined the local ancient ruins and had the opportunity to closely observe the archaeological excavations. This project was an important turning point in my career. After my success at the beginning of my career, I found a more original and creative production area and expanded my forms of expression by participating in the DereliArt project of Dereli Mermer Granite Madencilik A.Ş. In this process, I participated in many exhibitions such as "IAAF Istanbul Art & Antique Fair". My works were appreciated and offered for sale by "GALERIE D'ART LA VISIONE", one of the leading galleries in the sector. Subsequently, as part of the project team, we conducted an interview with STONE MAGAZINE introducing our works and our interview was published in the November-December 2021 issue. In 2022, my works were exhibited by Dr. Cem Bülent ÜNAL, a faculty member at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, taking part in the "Emaar Art Hub" project, Turkey's first NFT gallery and art incubation center. Thanks to this project, which took place on platforms such as CNN Türk, Sanat Okur and Litros Sanat, I had the opportunity to exhibit my works with well-known artists. In the past period, I worked as an expert sculptor in the 1/1 scale model department of a company that produces models of products designed and developed by defense industry companies. During this duty, I significantly improved my knowledge and skills in the field of sculpture by using various production techniques. With my passion and determination for art, I have tried to continue my artistic journey by overcoming many difficulties until today. But unfortunately, it has become very difficult for me to continue my artistic production due to the limited economic opportunities of our country today and the lack of sufficient value to the art community and the sector. I have always defended the importance and value of art for society. I believe that art is the food of the human soul and is also essential for the development of individuals and societies. For this purpose, I would like to change the way they look at the world, even if momentarily, with works that encourage the audience to think and feel by blending traditional techniques with modern approaches. However, under the current conditions, I unfortunately do not have the necessary financial and moral support to continue my artistic production. This situation makes me deeply sad and drives me to despair. Despite these difficulties, I will never give up on art. Until I create better conditions, I will try to continue my artistic production by making every effort I can.
